The Problem With Pet Damage
Pet accidents aren’t just surface stains. Urine soaks deep into carpet fibres, backing, and underlay—sometimes all the way to the floorboards. A standard carpet clean won’t fix it. Enzyme sprays from the supermarket won’t fix it either.
1. Identify
UV Detection
I use professional UV light to identify all affected areas—not just the ones you can see. Urine fluoresces under UV, revealing the true extent of damage. Many customers are surprised how far it’s spread.
2. Treat
Rehydration & Enzyme Treatment
I rehydrate dried urine crystals in the carpet and underlay, making them accessible for extraction. Then I apply specialist enzyme products that break down urine at the molecular level. This isn’t supermarket-grade; it’s professional-strength and targets the uric acid and bacteria that cause both staining and odour.
3. Extract
Deep Sub-Surface Extraction
Using a WaterClaw extraction system, I remove urine, moisture, and dissolved crystals from deep in the pile and underlay. This is the most critical step—it’s where surface cleaning fails. I extract what’s below the visible carpet, then apply a mild acid rinse to neutralise remaining urine salts and prevent re-crystallisation.
4. Protect
Encapsulation & Deodorising
I encapsulate the treated area with a protective finish to seal it and leave the carpet fresh and protected. A final deodorising spray locks in freshness and prevents any lingering odour from returning.
